Are you interested in working in the mental health field and working with children, CHCS currently has an opening for a Family Specialist in our Treatment Foster Care team?
This position functions within the team of providers in the Treatment Foster Care Program or in community-based programs as a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) or a Targeted Case Manager (TCM).
This position works with children, families, foster families, birth families, and outside providers in a manner appropriate to the particular service being delivered.
The goal of these services is to assist individuals in obtaining the support and skills they need to improve their level of functioning within their homes and communities.
Services are provided within the framework of the clinical model that works from the client’s theory of change and emphasizes the values of fairness, understanding, caring, respect, and feedback about the quality of services. The services are delivered in a variety of home, office, and community-based settings, depending on the client’s needs.

Requirements
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field
Must have a provisional MHRT/C certification and be able to obtain a full MHRT/C within three years from the time of hire
Must be eligible for Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification or able to obtain a full BHP within 1 year from the time of hire
This position requires a minimum of one year of professional experience working with children and their families who have emotional or behavioral challenges
Must have a flexible schedule
Must have a valid Maine driver's license and reliable transportation.
